"But I thought I was heterosexual ... "

(A Seattle Support Group for Married Women Who Are Questioning their Sexual Orientation: am I a lesbian?)

Married to a nice guy but. . .

  • "But I thought I was heterosexual" is a safe place to puzzle out your feelings of attraction for women.
  • This is a support group, not a therapy group.
  • It is composed of 6 women who are also in the process of questoining their sexual orientation and a professional facilitator.
  • It meets for 2 hours a week.

  Confidentiality is a top priority.

  • The group meets in a private home.
  • Members are committed to keeping all conversations in the group private.

These are complex and sensitive issues.

  • The group is a safe, non-judgmental place to explore your feelings, change your mind over and over, and get support for your process.
  • There are no expectations that you will finish this group with any particular decision, or sexual orientation: heterosexual, bisexual or lesbian or gay.

  Responsibilities of members:

  • Be an ally to each member's personal growth.
  • Make every effort to attend each meeting.
  • Pay for each meeting regardless of attendance.
  • Cost: $20-$35 per session (sliding scale according to your income).
